Landscape Architect Award of the Year

According to the Award’s core philosophy, the logo’s symbolism and source of inspiration are based on the relationship between the natural and the artificial—the man-made landscape. As a visual metaphor, the logo primarily captures the play and optical vibration of light shining through a tree canopy. Additionally, its symbolic layers can be interpreted as a set of natural phenomena. It refers to both the micro- and macro-environment, evoking the look of water droplets on various surfaces, while a deeper look reveals references to the molecular structure of materials. The logo’s distinctive inner world suggests the glitter of water and even bubbles forming underwater. Furthermore, the overall organic silhouette resembles a pebble, which specifically echoes the shape of the award trophy itself. The pierced design reflects the concept of interior versus exterior, as the surrounding space—the outside world—flows into the space within. Finally, the organically structured geometric shapes and ellipsoids symbolize the duality of natural and artificial interventions by landscape architects.
